After years of being single, internet dating, countless dates and cancelled dates, I said ENOUGH to internet dating. I just thought, there are over 7 billion people on earth and I am simply looking for 1 person. Just one lovely person.
When internet dating, you are disposable. Regardless of how beautiful and lovely you are, another girl is taller, thinner, blonder...different. Nobody signs up to internet dating and simply chats with one person at a time. After a week or two of chatting you get invited on a date, you carefully chose your outfit, get your hair done and head off looking your best.
You get on great, there seems to be a little chemistry, they are always that little bit different in real life than you had imagined however, when you head to the toilet, he checks his phone... there is more than likely a message from another girl. You check your phone and there is more than likely a few messages from other guys. Essentially, it doesnt matter if you get on, he has another 5 matches lined up and so do you...
I had come to the stage in my life that I wanted to settle down, meet "the one" and start a family. I was tired of Sundays alone, wedding invitations with a +1, or worse, wedding invitations with only you as you had been single for so long.
How was I going to meet my man?
For years, I have been setting up my friends, then friends of friends and family with lovely people I met along the way. I suppose, I understood how difficult it is too meet people. To date, I have been responsible for 5 weddings, 7 babies and plenty more happy couples.
What is more important in life than love, and so it began....
